Past to Present
Colleen Brady founded Applied Communication Strategies, Inc. (ACSI)
in 1996 after the sale of its parent communication company (TCCI).
Brady founded TCCI in 1978 and served as its president until its
sale in 1996. For five years after the sale, Colleen was under
the binds of a non-compete agreement for providing any technical
writing services in the greater Seattle, Washington area. That
five years is now over, and Colleen is offering a product she
developed and used throughout her 18-year technical writing
career: “How to Write an Engineering Report…A Proven Approach
for Engineers.”
Brady remained active in the communication field by continuing
to offer communication strategies and visuals for legal
proceedings and preparing witnesses to testify in court.
Continuous Learning
Being a continuous learner is a cornerstone of Colleen’s values.
In 1996, she launched into a masters degree program focusing on
leadership. She earned her second masters degree in 1998.
Subsequently, she and Mary Larson developed a leadership
program, which ACSI offers on a customized basis. In 1998,
Larson joined ACSI as Vice President and lead of its Coaching
and Training Division.
Applying Principles and Skills in
the World
With the addition of Mary Larson, MPA, ACSI launched Partner for
Success, coaching and training services focused on the
application of leadership, management, and business principles.
Specifically, Mary works with new managers and business owners
who want their managers to master the manager role. Through
coaching programs, learning tools, and seminars, Mary shares her
knowledge, perspective, and deep respect for the work of the
manager. She is a teacher of leadership principles, observer of
organizational dynamics, and champion of the impact of the
individual. Mary’s focus is on a practical approach to relieve
the business and personal trials that arises from unclear
interactions, wishy-washy leadership, and stifled feedback.
